To view your library activity and make necessary updates, click on your name once signed in to the online catalog and select "My Account" from the drop down menu.
Access your account to:
- Monitor the status of your resource requests
- Check due dates for items on loan
- Renew items that are near due or overdue
- View fines, fees, blocks, and messages from the library
The Overview page serves as a dashboard for your account management, with a tile for each tab from the top menu. The default is to view your activity from your home institution, Meadville Lombard Theological School. Every time you request or borrow a book from an I-Share library, it will appear in the menu of institutions in the right side menu. Selecting any of these while viewing Overview will show your activity just at that institution.
The left menu will allow you to select which institutions from whom you've borrowed books to appear for your review. The default is to show "All Institutions" with Meadville Lombard (your home institution) as the first in the list. Active institutions (ones where you currently have activity like requests or items checked out) are indicated with a check marked clipboard icon. If desired, use the drop-down menu to select "Has Activity" to only show the active institutions.
The Loans tab will show you all current loans with due dates from the institution selected from the right side menu. By default, you will view your loans from Meadville Lombard Theological School. To view your loans from another I-Share library you will need to select it from the menu. Items that are overdue will have an orange "Overdue" icon.
You can renew materials you have checked out on the Loans tab. To renew multiple items, use the radio buttons to select items and then click the "Renew All" icon in the upper left. To renew items individually, click the "Renew" icon next to the title.

Use the Requests tab to monitor the status of your requests from the Wiggin Library and I-Share. It will alert you when you have items to pick up from the hold shelf at your preferred pick up location.
If you've selected "USPS Delivery (MLTS Only)" as the Pickup Location, you do not need to do anything when the item is ready for pick up as the item(s) will be shipped to your address on file. See the Home Delivery section of this guide for more information.
No longer need a book you requested? You can cancel a request in process by selecting "Cancel" next to the title:
View the details of fines and fees you may owe on this tab. The amount, reason, and institution to which you owe will be listed. Meadville Lombard Theological School and I-Share libraries do not charge overdue fees. However, fines and fees may accrue for items that are excessively overdue and marked lost or for damaged materials. If you owe money to Meadville Lombard Theological School, contact library@meadville.edu to discuss payment options. If you owe to an I-Share library you will need to contact that institution directly - the Wiggin Library will not be able to intercede on your behalf.
Any blocks on your library account or messages from the library will appear on this tab. The most common block to library accounts occur if a borrower has an item checked out that is 21 days or more overdue. A block is applied for local borrowing from the Wiggin Libary and across I-Share. Contact library@meadville.edu to discuss your account.
Your contact information as it was entered when your library account was created. For community member users, this will be the address librarians use to mail your books for home delivery. Librarians will use the information in Populi for Meadville Lombard students, faculty, and staff.
You can renew checked out items from either the Overview or Loans page of My Account. Renewals need to be done for each library you've borrowed from individually. The default view on opening My Account is Meadville Lombard, but you can select other I-Share libraries using the left menu.
On the Overview page you will see a brief view of the items you have out from the selected library in the Loans tile. Select the "Renew All" icon to renew all items from that library.
Or, select one item from the Loans tile and the Loans tab will open - the same as opening the Loans tab directly:
1. Use the check boxes to mark the items you'd like to renew and select "Renew All." Marking the checkbox next to the total number of loans will select all of the items shown.
2. Renew a single item by selecting the "Renew" icon to the left of the item due date.
3. Use the check boxes to mark items on loan and select the pushpin icon to add them to your Saved Records.
4. Use the check boxes to mark items on loan and select the ellipses "..." menu to opt to export the record to a citation manager, print the record, or email the record.
If the renewal is successful, a confirmation pop-up will appear with the new due date:
Courtesy Emails
Automatically generated courtesy emails are sent through the library system to remind patrons of upcoming due dates for borrowed materials. This email comes from the Wiggin Library if the item(s) are from our collection, or from the lending library if borrowed from I-Share.
Overdue vs. Lost
If the due date passes and the item(s) have not been returned, several additional reminder emails will be sent to request their return. No overdue fees are charged, but patrons will owe the cost to replace any items that are considered "Lost." An item is marked "Lost" if it is 35 days overdue. If you borrowed an item that falls into "Lost" status but you still have it, return it as soon as possible to the Wiggin Library in person or mailing to Meadville Lombard at 180 N Wabash Avenue, Suite 625, Chicago, IL 60601. See the USPS Delivery section of this guide for more detail about returning items by mail.
Account Blocks
Once an item is 21 days overdue, the patron's account will be blocked from requesting or borrowing library resources. The block will be lifted when the item is returned. Similarly, a patron account will be blocked if they owe $10.00+ in fines for lost or damaged items. The block will be lifted when the fines are paid or forgiven.
Wiggin Library
The Wiggin Library does not charge overdue fees, but fines for lost or damaged items are as follows:
The Wiggin Library sends automatically generated courtesy notes to remind patrons of upcoming due dates and warning emails when the item is overdue and may soon be marked lost. Failure to receive a notice is not a basis for altering or waiving a fine. At 21 days overdue the patron's account will be suspended and prevented from requesting or borrowing library items until the overdue item is renewed or returned. At 35 days overdue the patron will be charged the cost to replace the item. The block will be lifted and fines and fees forgiven if the item is returned before it has been replaced by the library.
Graduating Meadville Lombard students must return all checked-out items and clear outstanding fines at the Wiggin Library and/or an I-Share library by 4 weeks prior to commencement. Students will be unable to graduate until they have returned all library items and paid all fines.
If you owe fines and fees to Meadville Lombard Theological School, contact library@meadville.edu to discuss payment options.
I-Share Libraries
I-Share does not charge overdue fees, but fines for lost or damaged items are at the discretion of individual I-Share libraries. I-Share libraries send courtesy notes to remind patrons of upcoming due dates and warning emails when the item is overdue and may soon be marked lost. Failure to receive a notice is not a basis for altering or waiving a fine. When an I-Share item is 21 days overdue, the patron's account will be suspended until the item is renewed or returned. It is at the individual I-Share libraries discretion to waive fines or lift a patron account suspension.
If you owe fines and fees to an I-Share library you will need to contact that institution directly - the Wiggin Library will not be able to intercede on your behalf.
