How to Read for Grad School

Plan ahead!

Syllabi and preliminary reading lists are posted to the Meadville Lombard website prior to the start of a given semester. It is a good idea to put reading time into your calendar to ensure you're setting aside enough time to complete them before class. With class work, internship work, and regular life all at once, assigned reading has a tendency to sneak up on you. Put in blocks of time each week to devote just to reading and taking notes. Find a quiet place where you are able to focus to do your reading that's free from distractions so you can get the most out of the book or article and retain the information you find important.
