iPad Kits: Overview

Confirm that all items are in the kit when you receive it and before returning:

• 1 iPad (8th gen.) in case
• 1 Apple Pencil with ergonomic grip
• 1 USB-C power adapter
• 1 Lightning to USB-C cable

When you receive your iPad Kit you will need to:

1. Turn the iPad on
2. Connect to Wifi
3. Confirm the Apple Pencil is paired
4. Log in to library resources and applications you'd like to use

iPad Kits are available to current Meadville Lombard Theological students and may be borrowed for one semester. Kits requested during the term will be due back at the end of that current semester.  

To request to borrow an iPad Kit, visit the Wiggin Library online catalog and place a request as you would a book - select to either pick it up at the circulation desk during library open hours or receive via USPS delivery. You will place the request for a specific iPad Kit - 1 of the 10 available. When the request is received you will get an email with a borrower agreement form with a Calendly link to schedule a Zoom orientation with library staff. We encourage patrons to schedule an orientation, especially if you are new to iPads/Apple devices. The orientation is a brief,15-30 minute Zoom call that will cover technical topics like connecting to WiFi, downloading files, use of the Apple Pencil, and charging the device.

Note: A link may appear on the iPad record in the catalog to "Request from I-Share." Do not select this option - it is displaying in error and the request will be automatically cancelled as they are not actually available from other institutions.

In addition to in person pick-up at the library, iPad Kits can be shipped to student patrons in the U.S. and will be sent via USPS with tracking*. When placing a request for an iPad Kit that you'd like shipped to your home, select "USPS Delivery (MLTS Only)" from the Pickup Location drop-down menu in the request form. 

Returning iPad Kits

Confirm that all kit components are inside the portfolio case before returning.

a. Return in person at the circulation desk in the Wiggin Library. Please hand the iPad Kit directly to a library staff member. Do not put in book return or leave unattended at the circulation desk.

b. Mail the iPad Kit back in a sturdy, secure box to:

When returning by mail, please ensure that the package can be tracked, whether via USPS or your preferred shipping provider. Email library@meadville.edu to alert library staff that your iPad Kit has been sent and provide a tracking number.

*Wiggin Library cannot ship iPad Kits internationally. When MLTS returns to in-person learning, international students will be able to pick up and return iPad Kits in the Wiggin Library.

iPad Kits can be renewed for an additional semester if there are no other requests placed by other patrons. To request to renew an iPad Kit, email library@meadville.edu. You will sign a new borrower agreement for the appropriate semester. Patrons cannot renew iPad Kits through the online catalog.
